3 Things to Ask When Booking a Private Jet

September 25,2019

Does the aircraft have a restroom?
This might sound like a strange question, because this isn't something you would ask when booking a commercial flight.  So, isn't it obvious that a private jet will have a restroom?  Actually, most aircraft do have a restroom on board, however, some are full lavatories and some are simply a rear seat that lifts up with a curtain the pulls around it for privacy, and some aircraft have an enclosed lavatory, but no sink.  While many shorter flights won't require a lavatory, there are many passengers that like having a full lavatory on board, with closing doors and a sink.  So, the next time you charter a private jet, be sure to ask what type of lavatory it has.

How much baggage space does the aircraft have?
Baggage capacity on a private aircraft is often overlooked and aquestion that many charter companies forget to ask their clients before booking a plane.  This is actually a very important question becuase one of the most used mid-size jets, a Hawker 800, has a good amount of room for passengers in the main cabin, however, the baggage capacity is surprisingly limited.  "Often times we get clients looking to take skiis or golf clubs, but don't want to spend the extra money on a large jet." - Studio Jet Aircraft Charter  A representative from Studio Jet Aircraft Charter confirmed that one of the first questions they ask, is how much and what type of luggage the passengers will be brining.  This can have a big impact on the type of plane that needs to be used.  Sometimes, if even pays to ship luggage in advance to avoid having to upgrade to a larger aircraft...but that is all up to the client's preference.

What is the seating layout of the aircraft?
Not all aircraft are created equal.  This is important to know.  Some aircraft can have all individual captains seats, while some aircraft have a combination of captains seats and couches (otherwise referred to as divans).  If you plan on taking as many passengers as there are seats, this can be an issue.  Sitting on a couch, sideways, on a long flight, might not be as comfortable as it sounds.  In addition, some aircraft have fully bearthable seating and some have partially reclining seats.  Fully bearthable seating are seats that can recline fully to simulate a bed configuration for sleeping.  Some aircraft even have the ability for two couches or seats to come together with a pad on top to make a nice size bed.  When booking your next private jet charter, it is important to ask about the seating configuration to make sure you and your guests are as comfortable as possible and that if sleeping arrangements are needed, the aircraft can accommodate your requirements.
